January 11, 2019
I trust that all of you enjoyed your Christmas and New Year celebrations with family and friends. May 2019 be filled with blessings for you!
Today is the mid-point in the second trimester. You will receive mid-trimester reports for your children on Monday, if tuition is current and all fees have been paid.
Tuition for the month of January is due on Tuesday, January 15. Please make your payment promptly so that you do not incur a late fee.
The "Students of the Month" for January have been determined. These students are: Felipe Alatorre, Juliana Fajardo, Sofia Avila, Sean Vazquez, Kimberly Sanchez, Esmeralda Corrales, Jael Diaz, Nayeli Rivera, Karely Jimenez, Julia Martin, Miguel Roman, Tyler Feulner, and Christal Rendon. Congratulations, students!
On Monday evening at 7:00 in the school hall there will be a presentation on the Tax Credit Scholarship program. The presentation will be bi-lingual. If you need information about the application process, eligibility, documents you will need etc., please attend this workshop.
Even if you received a TCS for 2018-2019, you must re-apply.
Empower Illinois will begin its 2 step-application process at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 15. Timing is critical. We suggest that you download documents on your Smart phone.
Big Shoulders SGO will open its 1 step application process on Tuesday, January 22, at 8:00 AM. Again, timing is critical.
At the 4:00 Mass on Saturday, January, 26, we will begin our celebration of Catholic Schools Week A children's choir will lead the congregation in song. With today's letter is a permission slip. We encourage your children in grades 3-8 to be part of this choir. Please return the form by Wednesday, January 16.
Today we begin our second fundraiser for this school year. Krispy Kreme donuts will be sold. All orders and money must be returned by Wednesday, January 23. Let's all work to make this a successful fundraiser. Prizes will be awarded to the top three sellers.
Two other fundraisers will be held this year. We will hold a spring candy sale and the final fundraiser is the Walk-a-Thon in early May. Every student is required to participate and get pledges to the Walk-a-Thon, so keep this in mind as you raise funds to meet your fundraiser fee.
On Monday, students may have a dress down if they pay $1. The money raised will be used for tuition assistance, so we ask that your children participate. You received a calendar of dates when these dress down days will be held.
The Christmas season will end this Sunday when we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord. Jesus humbly received John's baptism as a sign of the baptism in the Holy Spirit that was yet to come for His followers and as a starting point for His public ministry.
Your own baptism marks the beginning of your public life as a Christian. Because you were probably too young to "go public" back then, now is your time. Look for opportunities in the events of this week to show others that you truly believe that Jesus is Lord.
COME TO MASS ON SUNDAY AND RENEW YOUR BAPTISMAL PROMISES.
