Thanks to all of you who supported the Book Fair this week. Your purchase helps to maintain our school library and you have fostered reading in your children.
On Monday morning the Money Savvy Financial Literacy Program will be presented to students in kindergarten through eighth grade by employees of CIBC. We are grateful to the presenters.
Monday is a scheduled day of exclusion for those whose tuition payments are not current. If you have not paid your tuition through October, your children may not attend school until the tuition has been received. If you are delinquent, I ask that you pay the tuition that you owe on Monday morning so that your children do not have to be excluded from class.
General Service Fee and Noon Supervision Fee must be paid by December. Thank you.
Next Friday is an exciting day for our seventh and eighth grade students. They will be attending Holy Fire at the UIC Pavilion. They will join with approximately 9000 area youth from 6th-9th grade in a day which will focus on their baptismal call. There will be speakers, concerts, and Mass offered by Cardinal Cupich. This event will prepare the students for receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation on November 17. Please pray that he students are open to the Spirit.
On Saturday, October 27, Grace's Proud Parents is hosting the annual Halloween Party. Have you sent in a bag of candy for the goody bags? Have you sent in your requests for tickets? The ticket price increases to $8 if you buy tickets at the door. Have you sent in your form to volunteer or donate a food item? The forms must be returned by Tuesday.
The hall will be decorated on Friday evening beginning at 7:00.
October 23-31 has been designated as Red Ribbon Week. This national celebration promotes a drug-free, healthy lifestyle and encourages students to never do drugs. Students may have a dress down on Wednesday, if they wear clothing that is predominantly red in color.
Sunday's Gospel is similar to the one we heard on September 23. Remember how the Apostles argued among themselves about who was the most important one in their group? In Sunday's Gospel James and John, looking ahead to the future, try to get Jesus to promise them the prize seats at he heavenly banquet, the seats on either side of Jesus. Jesus gently reminds them James and John that greatness comes in serving others. I cane to serve others, Jesus tells them. You must do the same.
COME TO MASS ON SUNDAY WHERE YOU CAN CHOOSE THE PRIZE SEATS IN CHURCH.
